Care & Warranty
KINDRED EDGE KNIFE CARE, WARRANTY, RETURNS & SAFETY INFORMATION
Thank you for choosing a Kindred Edge knife.
Each knife we ship is built to be a reliable cutting tool, inspected individually before it leaves our hands, and intended for responsible use and regular maintenance. The information below outlines how to care for your knife, how our warranty works, and the terms that apply to your purchase.
We've tried to write this in plain language. If anything here is unclear, or if you have a question before you buy, please reach out — we'd much rather answer a question up front than have you end up with a knife that isn't right for you.
BEFORE YOU BUY
We're happy to answer questions before you order. Dimensions, weight, blade steel, lock feel, pocket carry — ask us. We'd rather spend fifteen minutes helping you decide than process a return.
All sales are final once shipped, except for defects, transit damage, and order errors. Details are in the Returns section below.
Our warranty remedy is repair or replacement, not refund. Details are in the Warranty section below.
You are responsible for knowing your local knife laws. Blade length limits, carry restrictions, and locking-mechanism rules vary widely by state, county, and country.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE — EMBEDDED MAGNETS
Kindred Edge knives incorporate embedded magnetic components as part of their design.
⚠️ Do not carry or store this knife on or near the person of anyone with a pacemaker, implanted cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), insulin pump, neurostimulator, cochlear implant, or other implanted or wearable medical device. Magnetic fields can interfere with the operation of such devices, and that interference can be serious.
If you or anyone in your household uses an implanted or wearable medical device, please consult the device manufacturer or your physician before purchasing or handling this product.
Additional magnet precautions:
- Store the knife away from sensitive electronics, magnetic storage media, credit and access cards, mechanical watches, and compasses or navigation equipment.
- Keep the knife away from children and pets at all times. Embedded magnets can cause severe internal injury if a loosened component is swallowed. Seek immediate medical attention if ingestion is suspected.
- Do not attempt to remove, pry out, or relocate any magnetic component. See Modifications & Disassembly below.
SAFE USE & ASSUMPTION OF RISK
A folding knife is a sharp cutting instrument. Used carelessly, it can cause serious injury or death. Please read this section even if you've carried knives your whole life.
By purchasing and using a Kindred Edge knife, you acknowledge and accept the following:
- Knives are inherently dangerous and carry risks that cannot be fully eliminated by design, materials, or manufacturing.
- You are solely responsible for using the knife safely, sensibly, and within your own skill level.
- You will keep the knife out of the reach of children and away from anyone not competent to handle it.
- You will inspect the knife before each use, and will stop using it if the lock, pivot, or blade shows any sign of looseness, damage, or malfunction.
- You will not use the knife as a pry bar, screwdriver, chisel, hammer, throwing knife, or in any way other than as a cutting tool.
- You will not use the knife as a weapon except as may be lawful in genuine self-defense, and you accept full responsibility for any such use.
Age requirement. Our products are sold only to individuals of legal age to purchase a knife in their jurisdiction, and in no case to anyone under eighteen (18) years of age. By ordering, you represent that you meet this requirement.
Legal compliance is your responsibility. Knife laws differ significantly between countries, states, counties, and cities, and they change. Restrictions may apply to blade length, opening mechanism, lock type, concealed carry, possession on certain premises, and importation. It is your responsibility to confirm that a knife is legal for you to own, carry, and receive where you live before ordering. We cannot provide legal guidance on knife laws, and we cannot accept a return because a knife turns out to be restricted in your area.
CARE & MAINTENANCE BEST PRACTICES
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your knife.
General care
- Keep the knife clean and dry after use.
- Wipe down the blade and handle periodically to remove moisture, oils, or debris.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to saltwater, chemicals, or corrosive environments.
Pivot & lock maintenance
- Keep the pivot, lock, and internal mechanism free of dirt, lint, and debris.
- Compressed air or a soft brush can be used for routine cleaning.
- Light lubrication may be applied sparingly if needed.
- Avoid over-lubrication, which attracts debris and can cause malfunctions.
Storage
- Store the knife in a dry environment.
- Avoid storing the knife loose in pockets or bags where debris can enter the mechanism.
- Store away from sensitive electronics and medical equipment.
SHARPENING & EDGE CARE
Kindred Edge does not offer in-house sharpening or "spa" services.
Sharpening should only be performed by:
- A competent individual experienced with sharpening high-quality knife steel, or
- A reputable professional sharpening service.
Improper sharpening technique, excessive material removal, or alteration of blade geometry can permanently affect performance and cannot be undone.
⚠️ Damage resulting from improper sharpening or edge modification is not covered under warranty.
MODIFICATIONS & DISASSEMBLY
Any modification, alteration, or disassembly of the knife — including but not limited to blade modification, handle or hardware changes, magnet or inlay removal, coating or refinishing, and alteration of internal components — will void warranty coverage and may render the knife unsafe.
Kindred Edge accepts no responsibility for any injury, damage, or loss arising from a knife that has been modified, disassembled, reassembled, or serviced by anyone other than Kindred Edge.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Kindred Edge knives carry a one (1) year limited warranty from the date of original purchase.

Who is covered. This warranty extends to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. Proof of purchase from Kindred Edge or an authorized dealer is required.
Your remedy. Where we confirm a covered defect, Kindred Edge will repair or replace the knife at our discretion. Repair or replacement is the exclusive remedy under this warranty. Replacement may be made with the same model, or with a comparable model where the original is no longer in production. Refunds are not a standard warranty remedy and will be considered only where repair and replacement are not reasonably possible.
Shipping on warranty claims. For approved claims within the warranty period, you cover shipping to us and we cover return shipping to you within the United States. For international claims, or for knives found not to be covered, return shipping is the customer's responsibility and we'll let you know the cost before we send anything back.
Determination. Warranty determination is made at the reasonable discretion of Kindred Edge, LLC.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
We are not able to offer returns based on preference, fit, feel, finish, or change of mind. All sales are final once an order has shipped, except as described below.
Every knife is inspected and handled individually before it goes out, and returned knives can't be resold as new. Please ask us anything you need to know before you order — we're genuinely glad to help you figure out whether a model is right for you.
Damaged, incorrect, or incomplete orders. If your order arrives damaged in transit, incorrect, or missing components, contact us within seven (7) days of delivery with clear photos and we will make it right at no cost to you.
Defects. Manufacturing defects are handled under the warranty above and are not processed as returns.
Unauthorized returns. Knives shipped to us without an approved RMA may be refused or returned at the sender's expense.
WARRANTY CLAIMS & CUSTOMER SUPPORT
To ask a question or start a warranty or RMA request, please use the contact form on this site and include:
- Your name and the shipping address on the order
- Proof of purchase
- A brief description of the issue and when it appeared
- Clear photos of the issue, if applicable
Please do not ship a knife to us without first receiving instructions and an RMA authorization. Unannounced shipments can't be tracked to a claim and may be refused.
Shipping a knife to us. Ensure the blade is closed and secured, pack it so it cannot shift or cut through the packaging, and comply with your carrier's rules for shipping bladed items. Some carriers and some jurisdictions restrict this. Risk of loss in transit to us remains with the sender, so we recommend a tracked and insured service.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Kindred Edge, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to the purchase, possession, or use of our products — including lost profits, lost data, loss of use, property damage, personal injury, or medical expense — regardless of the legal theory advanced and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to a product will not exceed the amount you actually paid for that product.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, where such limitation is prohibited.
Some states and countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted, and you may have additional rights.
DISCLAIMER OF OTHER WARRANTIES
EXCEPT FOR THE ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY EXPRESSLY STATED ABOVE, KINDRED EDGE, LLC DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE ONE-YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE.

GENERAL TERMS
Product variation. Our knives are made in small batches. Minor variation in finish, anodizing tone, texture, blade centering, and detent or lock feel is normal and is not considered a defect.
Images and specifications. We work to represent our products accurately, but photography, renders, and screen calibration can differ from the item in hand. Specifications may change without notice as we improve a design.
Severability. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, except where applicable consumer protection law entitles you to bring a claim in your own jurisdiction.
Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with any order confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kindred Edge, LLC regarding your purchase, and supersede any prior statements or representations.
